Learn how Solbras, from small changes, had an increase in the productivity of the installation of plates and mini photovoltaic power plant systems, further increasing the quality of its services.
Client:
Operating throughout Brazil, Solbras develops and offers the best in photovoltaic solar energy, as it is aligned with the most advanced global trends in the area. Leader in the photovoltaic energy sector, its focus is on the 300 Brazilian municipalities with the highest rate of solar radiation. It offers solutions for agribusiness, free energy market, industry, commerce and residence. It also provides full support in taking care of financing, design, installation and active monitoring.
Problem:
The expansion of the solar energy sector in the country has given rise to a very profitable business opportunity. Since the accumulated investments in the area exceeded R$ 5.2 billion, according to the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (ABSOLAR). In this scenario, to stand out from the other companies, Solbras needed to speed up its installation process for the plates and mini photovoltaic power plant systems.
Solution:
In order to contribute to Solbras’ objective, at first it was necessary to map all the applications where there could be an increase in productivity, without reducing the quality of services. It was noted that in some processes the company could save time and money only with the replacement or better use of the products in the facilities.
One change made was to replace Parabolt with Hardbolt in fixing the structural profiles to the concrete base, which serves as a support in the ground. This is because the mechanical anchor that was used before is characterized by a more complex application process, as it is composed of numerous parts (screw, washer, jacket and a cone) and its load depends on how much the screw is tightened by the nut during installation.
The Hardbolt is a single piece with a thread design capable of laminating the concrete at the time of application. Easy and quick to install, it provides a 30% time reduction in the installation process, in addition to being able to reach high loads. As Solbras guarantees its product for 25 years, the use of the item with the Ecoseal coating was specified, which has the longest durability in the category.
Another change made was in the fixing process. Before, Solbras used the Durs 12-14×3/4 TCP 3 as a drill and applied the Durs 1/4-14×7/8’ TCP 1 in the same hole to fix. After some tests, it was concluded that only using the Durs 1/4-14×7/8′ TCP 3 fastener was sufficient to meet the need. In addition to saving money by purchasing just one item, the company made the process more efficient.
The product used to insulate the aluminum profile with the steel profile was also changed, which resulted in quality and economy. This is because before, Tacky-Tape was used in the wrong way in the service, a tape specially developed for sealing in the overlapping of tiles. In order to meet the company’s needs, the use of Insutape tape, recommended, which avoids contact between different materials and isolates metallic or concrete underlayment.
Conclusion:
In a growing market, always being one step ahead of competitors is essential. Solbras is an example of the constant search for the optimization of its processes and that great results can be achieved from small changes.?
In the last year, the company achieved 500% growth and consolidated itself as a leader in the photovoltaic energy sector. This was possible because it ensured more efficient installations by using the most recommended products for each operation. In addition to saving and gaining in quality.?
